In Greene County district court Dawn Marie Brown, 50, of Perry was sentenced Feb. 17 to five years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of forgery. The sentence is consecutive to sentences in two misdemeanor cases. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. She was fined $21,025 with a $153.75 surcharge. A hearing is scheduled to determine her ability to pay restitution for her court appointed attorney and court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Zachery Waters, 25, of Jefferson, unauthorized use of credit card less than $1,500; and Thomas Lee Caldwell, 45, of Woodward, possession of methamphetamine- third of subsequent offense.
